The Need for Fellowship

Some folks say they don’t attend church because there are hypocrites in the pews. There are hypocrites in all walks of life. One cannot pattern ones lifestyle after that of another. You are bound to falter should you do that. Mom always used to say "if your friends jumped off a bridge, would you do it too?" Nevertheless this does not negate the need to attend church and fellowship with other Christians for it says in Hebrews 10:25;

25Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another and all the more as you see the Day approaching.

There may be times when you feel like you’re alone in the world and that you are the only one to experience your afflictions but you would be surprised to find that there are others like you who may have gone thru the same thing and are now attending church. This is not necessarily an opportunity you want to miss out on because you fear there are hypocrites to mislead you. They exist everywhere. If you are deeply rooted in the word no one can steer you off the right path. That is why it is so important for us to develop a personal relationship with Christ. Never neglecting the fact that fellowship does play an integral role in helping to develop our walk with Christ. It provides the encouragement and inspiration we might otherwise lack in pressing forward and overcoming our strongholds.
